Wheatland Pony Club
Wheatland Pony Club was started in 2012 as one of the “grass roots” branches of the Canadian Pony Club, which is a member-based not-for- profit organization for youth, ages 6 – 25, who are interested in riding and learning about horses or ponies. Canadian Pony Club is affiliated with an international network of more than twenty national Pony Clubs in other countries. Each national Pony Club organization ensures that programs are delivered within the country are in-line with international standards for education, testing and competition.
Wheatland Pony Club is one of 13 branches in the Alberta South Region.
Throughout the year Pony Club organizes activities, which include clinics, education and competitions in different disciplines such as, Dressage, Prince Phillip Games, Quiz, Rally, Show Jumping and Tetrathalon.
Wheatland Pony Club strives to provide members with a positive experience with their horses by providing opportunities for education and for enjoyment and/or competitive success with horses in order to learn responsibility, sportsmanship and good citizenship.
Wheatland Pony Club operates year round out of Wheatland Equestrian, offering stable management/theory lessons, riding lessons, camp, competitions and other activities for its members. The heated indoor arena at Wheatland Equestrian allow Pony Club the luxury of offering riding lessons through the winter months and the mezzanine provides the perfect location for lectures and guest speakers.
We are located on Range Road 262, 1/2 mile south of the secondary Hwy 564. Just outside the town of Lyalta.
